How To Backup & Store Your TokenPay (TPAY)

In this guide we’re going to use the TokenPay(TPAY) Windows and Android wallet, but the instructions might be the same with the Linux and OSX version.

1. Windows

  1. Head over to TokenPay’s website(tokenpay.com/wallets) and download the wallet for your device.
  2. Move the .zip file to somewhere you can easily access, like in your Documents folder or your Desktop
  3. Extract the .zip file by simply right clicking on it, and click on “Extract here“
  4. Open the TokenPay Wallet folder, then open the tokenpay.exe file
  5. Click on “Add New Wallet” under “Wallet Management” on the left sidebar
  6. Choose a wallet name. For this example, we will simply name our wallet “Wallet 1“
  7. Choose a password. Make sure your password is long enough, preferably with 30+ characters
  8. Click on “Next Step“
  9. Your wallet’s recovery seed will now be shown. Simply write the 24 words on a piece of paper. Do NOT save your recovery seed on a text file, a word file, or anywhere digital. Click on “Next Step” after writing down the 24 words.READ: Common Ways On How People Lose Their Bitcoin/Crypto
  10. Type in your recovery seed that you’ve just written down, then click on “Next Step“
  11. A short success message will then be displayedYou can now click on “Receive” under “Wallet” on the sidebar to view your Wallet 1‘s wallet’s address, so you can finally withdraw your funds from the exchange.

 

The “ExtKeyImportLoose failed, Unknown error, check log” Error

You can fix this error by following these steps:

  1. Press “Win+R” and typing in “%appdata” without the quotation marks then press ENTER
  2. Look for the “TokenPay” folder, and delete the folder
  3. Try again and create a new wallet

 

 

2. Android

  1. Download and install the TokenPay Android Wallet on the Google PlayStore (link)
  2. Open the TokenPay Android Wallet app and tap on “Create a new wallet“
  3. Your wallet’s recovery seed will now be shown. Simply write the 24 words on a piece of paper. Do NOT save your recovery seed on a text file, a word file, or anywhere digital. Click on “Next” after writing down the 24 words.READ: Common Ways On How People Lose Their Bitcoin/Crypto
  4. Type in your recovery seed that you’ve just written down, then click on “Step“
  5. Choose a password. Make sure your password is long enough, preferably with 30+ characters
  6. Tap on “Tokenpay” then tap on “Finish“
  7. You can now swipe to the “Receive” tab to view your wallet’s address, so you can finally withdraw your funds from the exchange.
