A Review: The Ledger Nano S Plus

Ledger Labs doesn’t release new hardware wallets frequently — but when they do, they sure do release some good devices. And here they are with the new Ledger Nano S Plus.

💡 Achieve enterprise-grade wallet security by using a Ledger hardware wallet.

What is it?

The Ledger Nano S Plus is the new hardware wallet Ledger released that mostly caters to people who don’t necessarily want the Bluetooth functionality of the Ledger Nano X but want something better than the Ledger Nano S (specifically, more memory for more apps).

What’s a hardware wallet?

Hardware wallets are mostly small flashdrive-like devices used for cryptocurrency enthusiasts to secure their funds. With a hardware wallet, you don’t need to worry about your phone or your computer getting hacked because your wallet’s keys are always secured inside the hardware wallet device.

Product quality

lookin’ sleek!

The base of the device along with the buttons is made of plastic, while the sort of cover seems to be made of stainless steel; making the device really light for you to carry around while giving the device more than enough durability due to the steel cover.

As for the two buttons — they’re very clicky and really satisfying to press!

We can personally vouch for the quality of Ledger’s hardware devices as we’ve never had any problems with them since the first time we’ve bought one, and we’ve definitely been fans ever since.

Should you buy it?

If you’re just getting your first hardware wallet (you definitely should if you don’t own one yet), the Ledger Nano S Plus is definitely the device we would recommend for most people. It simply just works really well, regardless if you want to use their Ledger Live software, or if you want to connect to other wallets such as MetaMask.

On the other hand, if you want something more “extra” — a 100 mAh battery plus Bluetooth connectivity for your mobile device, then you might want to go with the Ledger Nano X instead.

Conclusion

If you own cryptocurrencies (and NFTs) and you don’t use a hardware wallet, you’re putting your funds at risk. Unfortunately, software wallets and exchange wallets get hacked all the time, ending up with countless people losing access to their investments.
